We were so grateful to have wonderful hosts, Aman and his wife Deepa, take us around New Delhi for the day. Without them we would have probably only seen about 20% of it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the condition of the roads was much better than what we've experienced in Bangalore and Goa - two to three lane streets all throughout the city that are paved and relatively smooth and easy to drive; not the crater filled, broken concrete lanes that we've experienced elsewhere. Weather was really pleasant, hot in the middle of the day, but not unbearable. We were also surprised to find that it gets cold enough for a down jacket in the winter. For some reason, my preconceived idea of Delhi was that it would be hot, dirty and crowded. I was happy to find it really manageable and less garbage in streets than we've seen other places. It felt a lot more established than say Bangalore where the crowds have imploded on the place and the infrastructure can't keep up. -Megan
