- The friends we've made here who have helped create adventures and memories that we'll remember forever.
- The cows, the chickens, the donkeys! You'd think we had lived on a farm, not the Silicon Valley of India!
- Butter naan, tandoori chicken, masala dosa, pani puri and the daily cappuccino
- Auto rickshaws, Megan is desperate to find a way to bring one home.
- The everyday newness of living in another country. So much to take in and adjust to but at the same time so fascinating and eye opening. Our lives are richer because of this experience.
Photos from our last walk home on Friday night. Watch out for the potholes, but more importantly, watch out for the rocks that protect the manholes! The photo on the right is a side road that probably won't see pavement in our lifetime. The neighborhood down that road is view-able from our patio - no running water or electricity. |
After a busy day of moving from our apartment on Saturday to Aloft, with help from our friends, Rony and Reenu, we set off for dinner with Jake, Harsha, Ramesh and Rakshith. There are few things in life as entertaining as Harsha deciding to take on the food challenge at Biere Street to down 12 chicken drumsticks, 2 buckets of fries, a baguette and a pitcher of beer in 20 minutes. He was so confident starting out but about 4 minutes in was trying to convince the waiters he'd had enough. And then Ramesh schooled us on how to scarf down drumsticks in one bite. |
