Our experiences in Goa have varied greatly so far, after leaving the horrid Byke Olde Anchor resort we are back in Panjim (Goa's capital) and very pleased with our new hotel. We do not miss our giant, scurrying, hard-shelled buddies one bit. Amazingly enough we are not just popular with the insect population of India but also with some of its people.
Here in Panjim, Megan and I have tried to get out and see some of the more popular sights. We happen to be here on one of the biggest Indian tourist weekends of the year. Folks from all over India have made the pilgrimage to Goa to also experience this unique Indian State. I am not sure why, but it seems as though Megan and I draw nearly as much attention as antique Cathedrals and beautiful beaches. A handful of times now we have been asked by other vacationers if the could have their pictures taken with us. This is both confusing and flattering at the same time. One younger man even wanted to stand between Megan and I while putting his arms around us. Now a couple of very normal Americans feel like sought after celebrities. Oh how the paparazzi swarm.
